A Kern County sheriff’s office lieutenant faces nine felony charges after two alleged DUI crashes on the same day.
Prosecutors say Patrick McNeill was off duty when he crashed around noon on March 16 at Stockdale Highway and Allen Road. Police gave him a ticket for DUI, impounded his vehicle, and took him home.
McNeill allegedly got into another wreck at Coffee and 7th Standard roads two hours later. Authorities say he fled the scene and was later found at Lerdo Jail where he was arrested following a brief standoff with deputies.
He’s charged with DUI causing injury, hit and run, and resisting arrest.
