A man convicted twice in Kern County for molesting children has been denied parole.
Parole officials say Bryan Ransom, 64, still poses a risk after being sentenced to fifty years to life in 1988.
In 1990, Ransom was convicted of committing a lewd or lascivious act with a child under the age of 14. He served three years.
Upon release, Ransom molested another child under the age of 14 and was sentenced to fifty years to life plus 5 years.
Ransom became eligible for early release this year under California’s elder parole law, but the parole board denied his parole on June 3.
His next hearing could be in eighteen months.
