A 41-year-old man was arrested Thursday afternoon following a standoff with police in east Bakersfield.

It happened shortly before 3:00 p.m. when officers responded to a call to check the welfare of Alejandro Leon who allegedly refused to come out of the house in the 2900 block of Baylor Street.

Leon reportedly assaulted a family member. Police say his parents left the house before officers arrived.

Leon was arrested when officers finally entered the home. A man was seen on a gurney being taken into an ambulance. No further information was provided.
