A suspected arsonist is behind bars following a brush fire near the Park at Riverwalk.

Bakersfield fire crews say the flames started around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday and burned several acres near the river bottom adjacent to the ampitheater at the park on Stockdale Highway.

No one was injured and no buildings were damaged.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and booked into Lerdo Jail on arson charges.
