A pitcher with Bakersfield’s minor league baseball team has died in a crash.

Nick Danbrowney of the Bakersfield Train Robbers was killed Monday. Details about the accident haven’t been provided.

Danbrowney was the all-time strikeout leader at Ramapo College in New Jersey before he started his professional career in Bakersfield.

The Pecos League says the Train Robbers are devastated by the loss, calling Danbrowney a gentlemen off the field and a strong pitcher with a bright future.
