Cal State University Bakersfield has placed an assistant basketball coach on leave for alleged human trafficking.

Police arrested Kevin Mays, 32, Thursday night as part of an investigation that began with an anonymous tip.

Detectives reportedly linked Mays to the victim through rental cars, hotel records, and online ads.

Officers say they found the victim in Sacramento where she allegedly identified Mays as her trafficker, and say they seized guns, drugs, and cash from Mays’s car and apartment.

He faces trafficking, drug, and weapons charges.
