police: drugs, guns found in sex trafficking case

More information is coming to light following the arrest of a Cal State Bakersfield basketball coach facing sex trafficking charges.

Police say they found ghost guns, drugs, and cash at the home and inside the car of Mark Mays, 32, who was apprehended last Thursday for allegedly exploiting a woman for commercial sex in California, Oregon, and Washington.

Officers say they found more than $4,000, a loaded gun and methamphetamine in Mays’s car when they conduced a traffic stop. A search of his home reportedly turned up several ghost guns, marijuana, and drug-packaging materials.

Mays has pleaded not guilty to charges including pimping and pandering.

He’s being held on $500,000 bail and returns to court next week.
