Kern County Sheriffs deputies say Nahama Bucato, 34, called them early Monday morning to say he’d just shot and killed a man who was sleeping with his estranged wife.
Bucato was arrested after staying at the scene of the shooting at a house in the 200 block of Philippine Street. The home isn’t listed as Bucato’s address.
The victim was shot several times and died at the scene. A woman and a 15-year-old were at the home when deputies arrived.
Bucato is charged with first-degree murder and assault with a gun and could face the death penalty.
He was arraigned Wednesday and is being held without bail.
He’s due back in court September 29.
