An inmate who slipped out of the custody of Kern County Sheriff’s deputies has been captured.

Officials say Francisco Garcia, 23, was brought to Kern Medical for an appointment Saturday night and managed to escape around 11 p.m.

A video posted to social media shows a man in an orange jumpsuit running through the parking lot with a female deputy in pursuit.

Authorities say Garcia was caught Monday.

He was convicted in July on two counts of attempted murder and other charges and faces 80 years to life in prison.
