A retired corrections sergeant from Bakersfield has admitted to DUI and hit and run charges in a crash that injured two people.

Prosecutors say Arnfulfo Valverde, 48, had a blood alcohol level above the legal limit when he crashed his car in the 10000 block of Stockdale Highway in November 2024. He left the scene.

Valverde faces 180 days in jail, felony probation, and must pay restitution.

Sentencing is set for October 21.
