A California City council member has resigned.

The council planned to censure councilman Michael Hurles for allegedly using city resources for personal errands, skipping meetings, and harassing colleagues.

However Hurles quit Friday night, just hours after receiving the notice. He denies any wrongdoing.

His resignation follows two earlier departures that left the council struggling to function

The city council is expected to discuss the issue at this evening’s meeting and answer questions from residents.

The meeting starts at 5 p.m. at City Hall.
