A husband and wife from North Edwards have been arrested on suspicion of torture and child abuse.

Matthew James, 38, and Brittney James, 35, were apprehended Thursday in the 16000 of Bellaire Avenue after authorities say the couple abused three children under the age of 14.

The kids are now in custody of Child Protective Services.

Matthew James is an employee of the Muroc Joint Unified School District. He’s been placed on administrative leave.
