Governor Gavin Newsom has released the results of a statewide crackdown on illegal marijuana operations, and Kern County was among the top targets.

Over the summer, California’s Unified Cannabis Enforcement Task Force seized more than 11,000 pounds of illegal cannabis in Kern County worth over $18 million.

Statewide, officers destroyed 66 tons of marijuana across 15 counties including Monterey at the top, followed by Los Angeles, Kern, Shasta, and Alameda counties.

More than 234,000 plants were eradicated, 22 guns were confiscated, and 18 people were arrested.
