BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A 24-year-old Bakersfield woman is behind bars after allegedly stealing money from a credit union in Lamont.
Ailyn Mendez was arrested Wednesday after Kern County Sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant at her home where they also found parolee Angel Alfaro, Jr., 27, who allegedly had two loaded guns including an AR-15-style rifle.
Deputies say Mendez managed to steal more than $7,000 from members of Self-Help Credit Union in the 10000 block of Main Street. There’s no word from officials exactly how she stole the funds.
Both Mendez and Alfaro are in custody on numerous charges.
