BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — The murder trial set for next month of a man accused of an impaired-driving crash that killed a Bakersfield grandmother has been postponed.
A judge on Friday pushed back to February 23, 2026, the trial date for Karim Reyad, 20, who was allegedly under the influence of marijuana when he crashed his car into a vehicle driven by Gayla Price, 66, on Campus Park Way in southwest Bakersfield in April 2023.
Price died at the scene. Reyad and two passengers in his car were injured.
Reyad’s attorney says he needs more information from the prosecutor in an effort to resolve the case.
