BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — Bakersfield police are investigating a suspected drunk-driving crash that left a food vendor and a child injured in east Bakersfield.

It happened Monday afternoon at the intersection of Haley Street and East California Avenue where Andres Serna, 33, allegedly veered off East California Avenue and drove through a fence into a parking lot where a food truck was set up.

A man and his 8-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries. Serna suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. Police say he’ll be taken to jail on DUI-related charges once he’s medically released.
