BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A suspected DUI driver accused of crashing into a house in east Bakersfield has taken a plea deal.
The California Highway Patrol says Thomas Gonzalez was driving a 2024 Honda Accord on Gage Street October 4 when he left the road and hit a house, injuring a woman inside.
Gonzales reportedly tried to run away, but a witness helped officers catch him.
He pleaded no contest to DUI and hit-and-run charges last month and faces two years’ probation, 90 days of work release, and must pay restitution.
Sentencing is set for December 10.
