BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A 38-year-old man sits in jail after a police standoff in east Bakersfield.

Officers responded Tuesday morningto a ShotSpotter alert to find Uriel Bonilla, 38, reportedly barricaded inside a house in the 900 block of Kentucky Street.

Cops say Bonilla fired a gun from the house.

The SWAT team used flash devices and a chemical irritant to get Bonilla to surrender.

He faces charges of reckless discharge of a firearm.
