BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A former Bakersfield band teacher has entered a plea of no contest to sex charges.
Salvador Fabian, 27, from Del Oro High School, entered the plea Tuesday to having sex with a 15-year-old student and faces two years in prison, sex offender registration, and a protective order keeping him away from the victim.
Fabian was hired as an assistant band teacher last August but was arrested two months later after school officials received an email about the encounters which took place in the faculty parking lot.
Fabian remains in custody on $245,000 bail.
