BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) A woman accused of shooting at the KBAK-TV station twice earlier this month pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Kern County Superior Court.
Thomashana Renee Zeigler, 46, faces multiple felony charges, including shooting at an inhabited dwelling, shooting at an unoccupied dwelling and two counts of vandalism, according to court records. She also faces four misdemeanor firearm-related charges.
A deputy public defender entered the not guilty plea on Zeigler’s behalf during her arraignment Tuesday afternoon. Zeigler said in court that she is a veteran.
She remains in custody without bail and is scheduled to return to court Oct. 30.
Bakersfield police responded to reports of gunfire at the station on Westwind Drive in central Bakersfield on Oct. 9 and Oct. 13.
Following the second shooting, officers found multiple bullet strikes on the building and 11 .40-caliber shell casings, according to police.
Three employees were inside the building during the second incident. No injuries were reported.
Zeigler was arrested Oct. 15 during a traffic stop while allegedly on her way to the station, the Bakersfield Police Department said. She was reportedly armed with a .40-caliber handgun and a loaded magazine.
