BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A man suspected of being a primary narcotics supplier in northeast Bakersfield and three others have been arrested, according to police.
The Bakersfield Police Department said Jacob Abel Sanchez, 39, was arrested Oct. 23 following an investigation prompted by residents’ complaints about drug sales and use near Mount Vernon Avenue and Columbus Street.
Police said Sanchez was seen allegedly selling drugs near Haley and Height streets. When officers attempted to contact him, he ran but was eventually apprehended, according to the department.
Sanchez was found with 45 grams of fentanyl and $210 in cash, police said.
Authorities did not identify the three other people arrested in connection with the investigation.
Sanchez was booked into the Lerdo jail facility on multiple drug-related charges and an illegal weapons charge. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 27.
