A California City man who shot and killed a suspected trespasser in 2022 has been sentenced on involuntary manslaughter charges.
Duvardrick Reeder pleaded no contest earlier this year and was sentenced Tuesday to a two-year suspended sentence with 90 days in jail.
The shooting happened after Reeder confronted Adolfo Vega in a backyard in the 21000 block of Block of Bancroft Court.
During sentencing, the judge said Reeder did not commit the shooting with the intent to kill the victim.
Prosecutors asked for a four-year sentence.
