A woman accused of starting a fatal mobile home fire in Oildale appeared in court Monday.

Nicole Taylor, 34, is charged with first degree murder and arson following the blaze that took the life of Amber Wimberly, 52, and two dogs at a trailer on State Road on May 31.

Taylor is being held without bail and returns to court October 15.

Investigators haven’t released any details about a possible motive for the fire.
