former fairfax school board member sentenced

A former member of the Fairfax School District Board has been sentenced for voter fraud.

On Wednesday, Palmer Moland was sentenced to 90 days in jail and two years probation after his conviction in June on perjury charges.

Moland was arrested in September 2022 after falsifying information on papers he filed in order to run for the Fairfax School board.

He also received a suspended sentence which requires him to avoid any legal trouble or face three years in prison.

Moland is scheduled to be sentenced on July 15 after pleading no contest to healthcare fraud-related charges in two separate cases.
