A woman accused of killing a Bakersfield couple in a DUI crash is due in court next month.
Prosecutors say Anabell Correa, 22, ran a red light at Coffee Road and Stockdale Highway on March 16, 2025, and slammed into a ride share car carrying 30-year-olds Max and Desiree Mooney who were heading home after a night out.
Max was pronounced dead at the scene, while Desiree died at Kern Medical. Two other passengers in the car were injured.
Police say Correa’s blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. She allegedly told police she drank two 24-ounce cans of Twisted Tea before the crash.
She faces two murder charges and remains in jail without bail.
A preliminary hearing is set for September 2.
