A man’s body was found in the middle of the street in southwest Bakersfield.

Police responded Sunday at around 8 a.m. to find the person unresponsive in a residential neighborhood in the area of Camino Media east of Gosford Road.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police think a car may have struck the man, but no vehicle or driver were found at the scene and no witnesses have come forward.
