Police arrested a man and woman after a foot pursuit and search through downtown Taft.

It started Tuesday afternoon when an officer spotted Russell Lacey III, 27, who was wanted on a felony warrant near the 600 block of North Street. He allegedly took off running but was caught hiding behind a business in the 400 block of Center Street.

Police later arrested Dawn Bishop in the 200 block of Sixth Street on a felony warrant for violating parole.

Police say both suspects are connected to an assault that happened Monday.
