BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — Police shut down two homeless encampments in east Bakersfield after new complaints about drug use and illegal camping.
Officers worked the area of Oswell and Auburn Streets on Friday and arrested six people on trespassing and warrant charges.
They also found a runaway teenager who had been missing since July. The teen was living in the camp and is now in protective custody.
Animal control seized three dogs.
One person asked for help and received housing assistance from Flood Ministries.
