BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A judge has delayed a mental health diversion hearing for former Kern County Supervisor Zack Scrivner.
The 51-year-old was arrested last April, and is accused of taking mind-altering drugs and sexually assaulting one of his children at their home in Tehachapi.
A motion to allow treatment would mean dismissal of felony charges including child cruelty and illegally possessing assault weapons, and would keep Scrivener out of jail.
Kern County Sheriff’s deputies reportedly found 30 guns, including assault rifles, at Scrivner’s house.
The next hearing takes place Friday.
