suspected wife killer allegedly confessed to police

BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A Bakersfield man accused of shooting his wife to death reportedly admitted the killing to police.

Manuel Robles, 37, is charged with first-degree murder after allegedly shooting Ana Robles, 37, with an AR-15 rifle after the two were drinking at their home on Tallulah Falls Court November 26, 2025.

A juvenile at the house tried to intervene after Robles allegedly threatened to kill himself after the shooting.

Authorities say Robles was involved in a wreck in his pickup shortly after fleeing the scene.

He allegedly told police,”I could have forgiven her, but I didn’t. She didn’t deserve that.”
