BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A preliminary hearing has been postponed until later this month for Anabell Correa, charged with two counts of murder after allegedly driving drunk in a crash that killed a married Bakersfield couple.
The postponement was granted Monday after the prosecutor told the court that she’s currently involved in another trial.
Police responded March 16, 2025, to the intersection of Coffee Road and Stockdale Highway where Correa’s white Hyundai allegedly ran a red light and collided with a rideshare vehicle, killing 30-year-olds Max and Desiree Mooney.
Correa reportedly told investigators she drank two cans of Twisted Tea before the accident.
