BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A man who was shot and wounded after allegedly pointing a gun at a Bakersfield police officer has been arraigned on charges including attempted murder.
Fabian Lopez, 37, is accused of trying to shoot a Bakersfield cop who apprehended him after he allegedly ran from a vehicle during a traffic stop at Latina Drive and Pisa Way December 29, 2025.
Cops say the shooting happened after Lopez pulled a gun from his waistband during a scuffle with police.
Lopez remains in custody without bail and returns to court next month.
