BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A hearing has been delayed for a 28-year-old man accused of abducting a girl from Taft.
Matthew Naval is being held on $1.4 million after allegedly picking up the 10-year-old and bringing her to Sacramento County in April 2025.
He and the child had been communicating through the video platform Roblox.
Naval has pleaded not guilty to charges including kidnapping and committing sex acts with a child under 14.
A preliminary hearing is set for May 22, 2026.
