LOS ANGELES (NBC) — A new Eric Swalwell accuser is detailing an alleged sexual assault.
Lonna Drewes says the now-former congressman raped her at a hotel in West Hollywood in 2018. She believes he spiked her drink with drugs, adding that nothing about their encounter was consensual.
Drewes says she met the California Democrat socially three times and that he took advantage of her political aspirations.
Drewes’ attorney, Lisa Bloom, says Swalwell resigning from Congress this week is not justice.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is now investigating. Swalwell’s lawyer says he denies the allegation.
