DELANO, CA (KUZZ) — More changes to erase the memory of the once-iconic Cesar Chavez are coming to Delano.
On Monday, April 20, the city council is expected to discuss the future of city properties, streets, and monuments bearing the name or image of the late labor leader after his fall from grace in March.
The founder of the United Farmworkers Union was accused of sexual misconduct including abuse of minors.
The council will discuss changing the names of Cesar Chavez Park and Cesar Chavez Lane. Also up for discussion are the Ellington Community and Downtown Breezeway murals.
The meeting starts at 5:15 p.m. at Delano City Hall.
Chavez died in 1993.
