BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A Bakersfield man who allegedly possessed child pornography during his time as a probation officer is facing a year behind bars.
Jared Martinez, 45, pleaded no contest last week to a charge of attempted sex in exchange for the dismissal of other charges including attempting to commit a sex act with a minor.
Martinez was charged in November 2025 with possession of child pornography after authorities say his cell phone contained images of young girls under twelve involved in sex acts.
Martinez must also register as a sex offender.
