BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — Bakersfield continues its ongoing effort to clear the city’s homeless encampments.
On April 29, several agencies including Flood Ministries removed homeless individuals and their pets from seven encampments along the islands between Manor Street and the North Chester Avenue overcrossing over the Kern River.
Four people accepted services from Flood Ministries, one person was arrested for squatting, several animals were taken to the Bakersfield animal shelter, and 24 tons of trash were removed.
