Companies, schools, and businesses will take moment to stop, drop, and hold during Thursday’s Annual Shake Out Drill.

October 20th will mark the 27th anniversary of the disastrous Loma Prieta earthquake in the Bay Area, which leveled buildings and freeways and caused billions of dollars in damage.

Glenn Pomeroy of the California Earthquake Authority says people should not get lulled into a false sense of security by the drills that are held each year on the same date.
