BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — Bakersfield police have arrested a man in connection to the sale of illegal fireworks.
Authorities say Juan Ayala, 35, was taken into custody after investigators suspected he was advertising illegal fireworks online.
Detectives served a search warrant at a home on Alderpointe Street where they seized more than 340 pounds of illegal fireworks. Ayala was booked on felony and misdemeanor charges.
Officials say the seizure is part of an ongoing crackdown that has resulted in nearly 7,000 pounds of illegal fireworks being confiscated citywide since June 12, 2026.
