CALIFORNIA CITY (KUZZ) — A tragic dog attack in California City has left a 12-year-old boy dead and another child injured.
Police say the incident happened Friday at Central Park when two unleashed dogs attacked a group of children.
Authorities report Fernando Moreno tried to escape by jumping into a nearby lake. He was rescued and taken to a hospital where he died.
Another child suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
