BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A body was recovered from the Kern River near Hart Park during an ongoing search for a person reported missing
The incident began Monday morning around 11:30 when emergency crews responded to reports of three people in distress in the river. Two were rescued, one remained missing.
Search crews recovered a body around 1 p.m. Tuesday but investigators have not yet confirmed whether it’s the missing person.
Authorities also received a separate unrelated report involving two additional people in the river. Both were safely rescued.
Five people in all were involved in the two incidents. Four were rescued and one was unaccounted for.
