BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — The attorney representing a man accused of crashing his pickup into onlookers at the Bakersfield Christmas Parade has withdrawn from the case.
Alan Booth, 75, will now be represented by BreAnne Ruelas through the Indigent Defense Program after Jeremy Brehmer backed out because of a conflict of interest.
Booth faces several felony charges stemming from the 2023 crash and is accused of driving with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit.
He was also convicted this year in a separate misdemeanor DUI case.
A new trial date is set for September 21, 2026.
