JOHANNESBURG, CA (KUZZ) — Another earthquake has struck Kern County, adding to months of ongoing seismic activity in the region.
A magnitude 4.3 earthquake hit around 9:40 a.m. Monday, with an epicenter located about 11 miles southwest of Johannesburg in eastern Kern County.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the area has experienced increased activity for months, with continuing swarms of smaller earthquakes.
Monday’s quake comes after a separate earthquake early Sunday morning near Frazier Park. No damage or injuries have been reported from either event.
