BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A crash involving a Kern County Sheriff’s Office transport bus in downtown Bakersfield sent 12 inmates to the hospital Friday morning for medical evaluations.
According to KCSO, the bus backed into a pole near L and 20th streets around 8:30 a.m. There were 22 inmates and two employees aboard at the time.
Officials said no visible injuries were reported, but 12 inmates requested to be evaluated at a hospital. The remaining inmates were checked at the Lerdo Justice Facility.
