BAKERSFIELD, CA(KUZZ) — Authorities have identified the driver accused of going the wrong way on Highway 99 in a crash that killed a Bakersfield mother and her two daughters.
The California Highway Patrol says Jamie Rodriguez, 44, of Tulare was driving north in the southbound lanes near Seventh Standard Road on August 16 when he collided with a car carrying three people returning home from a concert in Fresno.
Vanessa Wetmore, 41, and her daughters, Kylie and Kloie, ages 20 and 16, were killed in the crash.
Rodriguez remains hospitalized with major injuries as the investigation continues.
