NASHVILLE, TN (Fox News) — Dolly Parton has died at the age of 80 following a brief battle with cancer, according to her representatives.
Parton died peacefully Tuesday at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville, Tennessee, surrounded by loved ones.
In a statement, her representatives said Parton spent her life bringing “joy, laughter, hope and integrity” to everything she touched. They also highlighted her philanthropy, including the hundreds of millions of books distributed through her Imagination Library and her support for medical research that contributed to the development of a lifesaving vaccine.
Her representatives said Parton’s generosity and unconditional love for others were central to her lasting impact.
