The city of Bakersfield is working to replace nearly 29-hundred trees that have been removed because of the drought. Parks and Recreation Director Dianne Hoover says reducing water suddenly for so many landscapes impacted their ability to survive. The city has secured $500 thousand in funding to plant replacements and hopes to do so in the fall and winter.
