The new branch of the Tehachapi Library has opened in an historic downtown building on South Green Street. Kern County Director of Libraries Andie Apple says the new facility has about a thousand more square feet of room, which includes a community meeting room and more public computers.

Renovations and retrofitting on the 70-year-old Masonic structure began in February.
