A review board has determined shots fired by a Bakersfield police officer near a Pacheco Road residence were within department policy. Officer Matthew Johnson is recovering from his injuries and Officer Joshua Deutinger will return to duty. He did not use his weapon during the August incident that killed 22-year-old Isaac Cervantes.
