The Sheriff’s Bomb Squad has detonated a pair of pipe bombs that were discovered this weekend near Stallion Springs. MAN SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS FOR BEATING FIANCE WITH WOODEN STICK
A 38-year-old Kern County man received a five-year sentence for hitting his fiancé with a stick. Prosecutors say Michael Bostick woke up around midnight one night in March, angry with her for not having a meal ready for him, and so he beat her.
